HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

  1. Every boy believes his Dad is the strongest Dad and is indestructable. Obviously that can not be true for every boy groing up. However, I believe it was true fro me. We all know Dad is strong and a hard worker. I had my feeling that Dad was the strongest confirmed by Uncle Rob. Dad was out of town and I needed to load a piece of equipment into the truck for Mom. Uncle Rob came over to help, I think I was 12 or 13, I showed him how I had helped Dad load it before. Uncle Rob looked at me and said "we are going to need to get some more help." I quickly replied, "Dad and I have loaded this just the two of us several times." Uncle Rob's reaction I will never forget when he said, "your dad can do alot of things that would take ten men to do." There it was my belief that my Dad was the biggest, toughest and strongest Dad confirmed by another full grown man.

  2. I will never forget the first time I saw dad run, almost at a full sprint. Cindy had been out riding one of our horses raindrop and I really wanted to take a ride too so when Cindy was done she tide her up to the fence around the yard. As I started to climb up on the saddle it became very clear that raindrop was not tied up very well. She started to move and I was not ready. I had my hands on either end of the saddle and standing in the stirrup. Raindrop very quickly turned and was running toward the field where the horses stayed I was at this point just holding on for dear life. I could see over the saddle past raindrop that everyone that was at home at the time was chasing after us. In all the panic it is still amazing to me that I can still see dad running as fast as I think he probably could trying to catch us. Once raindrop hit the bridge leading into the field she jumped across it and I lost my hold. I cut my chin open on the bridge(I have a nice scar there) and dad was right there to scoop me up and take me up to the house so I could be comforted and cleaned up. It was nice to see how concerned he was and that he did all he could to try and get to me. But as touching as this story can be I will always giggle to myself when I picture dad running. It was quite the sight! I don't know exactly how old I was, but I know I was under the age of 8.
And just a side note I was always so jealous of you guys that got to go out and work with dad. He was always gone so much and you got to spend that time with him and it didn't help that you made good money doing it! Happy Father's day(Late)
