Name: Hal Williams Cox

Spouse: Amy Rose Harward Cox

Hal and Amy were married Aug 25, 2007. They first met in highschool and spent a lot of time together but never admitted their true feelings to one another. After highschool they went their seperate ways. They each married someone else and had three kids each. Years later after those marriages ended they were reunited at a football game where Hal's two oldest boys were playing and Amy's two older girls were cheer leaders. Hal noticed her at one of the games as she was cleaning up her blanket and gathering her stuff to leave. He stood behind her like he was waiting for her to leave and she politely said, "I am cleaning up and will be out of your way soon" Hal sarcastically replied,"It's about time your game is over!" Amy turned to give him the "what for" and realized who it was and smiled and gave him a huge hug. From that moment on they talked at the games every weekend, began dating and were eventually married.

Hal and Amy have a "Yours and Mine" family they refer to as the " Cox Bunch". The oldest is Brittany Hooker, age 13; Chelsea Hooker, age 10; Carson Hooker, 5 in June; Mitchell Cox, age 13; Corbin Cox, age 11; and Kourtney Cox, age 8. Mitchell, Corbin and Kourtney live with their mother in Spanish Fork, UT. They are all doing very well in school and sports. Mitchell and Corbin play football, basketball and tried hockey. Kourtney is Hal's little princess who thinks she is everyone's boss and uses Dad as the enforcer. Brittany and Chelsea are in dance. This year Brittany made her school dance company. Both Chelsea and Brittany made the cheer squads for their respective 6th and 8th grade football leagues. Carson is a "daddy's boy" and can't wait for Hal to return from his tour of duty in Kuwait. He looks forward to a day of playing video games and McDonalds with daddy. He is in preschool and doing well.

Hal and Amy currently live in Lehi, Ut about 10 blocks from Richie and Angela.
For the past 16 years Hal has served in the Navy Reserves and done law enforcement. He is currently serving in Kuwait at the Naval base. Amy is a stay at home mom but also volunteers as a cheer coach for her daughters. Together they enjoy working out, and watching scary movies. They love to be scared and Hal especially loves scaring Amy because that means she sleeps closer to him at night.

Hobbies: As a family they love to go to Seven Peaks water park in the summer. Hal and Amy like to go do target practice with shooting guns. They like to try and outshoot each other. They both enjoy UFC fights.

Sports Fan: True to Cox tradition, Hal is a true blue BYU fan. He even has his locker in Kuwait decorated with BYU logo's .

Memories: Hal's favorite memories are of times as a kid when they used to buy a bucket of chicken at KFC and load up in the blue Ford with the iron rack and go in the canyon for a sunday drive. Another is getting cap guns on the fourth of July morning and going to the parade and building a scafolding sitting area on University Ave.

Traits: The main traits that Hal has inherited from mom and dad, as anyone who knows him would agree, is his short fuse and huge explosion courtesy of Dad. Hal believes the military has taken that and put it to use in a good and productive way. He has become a great leader. He also attributes his strong work ethic to Dad. He is currently up for promotion as Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. Many people try and never come close in a 20 year career to achieve that and after only 8 years he has many endorsing his chiefs package. However, Hal is not all crash band and fireworks, he has learned to listen and give advice to help others. Mom's big heart had rubbed off on him and he is known as a protector. He hates it when people pick on others and loves to jump in the middle and defend those who may not be able to defend themselves. He believes that is the biggest reason he volunteered to come to Kuwait and serve. He hates to leave his family behind but he knows they are proud of him and support what he and America stand for. He and his family are making the sacrifice for our nation and others who cannot. So in closing Hal reminds us to love our families and never let one moment pass you but without taking the time to hold your spouse and play with the kids. There are men and women who can't and have given their lives so we all can! And support your troops!
